The mountains start an hour from Marrakech and the temperature drops several degrees with them. Ourika is the closest and the cheapest way to see the High Atlas properly — Berber villages, an argan cooperative and a guided walk to the Setti Fatma waterfalls. Ouirgane is the quiet alternative, the same mountains with a fraction of the visitors. Ouzoud is further out and a different thing entirely: 110 m of waterfall in three tiers, the tallest in North Africa.
